Switzerland Flags Details
Let everyone who walks or drives by your home or business see your country pride with a Swiss flag for sale. Our flags are made to last due to their long-lasting material and printing process. The print method is a dye sublimation technique, which ingrains the ink into the fabric rather than on top of the material. This results in vibrant colors that will not scratch or peel off the material. The fabric is perfect for printing because we use a knitted polyester material. Our polyester fabric is also tear-resistant so it can withstand all kinds of outdoor weather. We print on one side of the polyester material and the reverse image bleeds through to the other side, allowing our flags to affordable. If you need hardware for installing your flags, add a handheld flagpole or a mounted pole set to your purchase. The grommets on the side of the flag allow for simple assembly with the hardware. These flags are the perfect additions to any home or storefront and last a long time.

Swiss Flag History
Switzerland’s white cross began being used to identify the Old Swiss Confederacy army around the 1300s. Using a white cross on a red background contrasted the St. George’s cross and the St. Andrew’s cross used by other armies. The white cross began being known as the Confederate Cross in the 1500s and was a symbol used for the Confederacy. The 16th century often depicted the cross in the flammé design where it extends across the whole flag, which is different from the Switzerland flags used today. After the French invaded Switzerland and the Confederacy collapsed, the previous flags were replaced with the tricolor banner of the Helvetic Republic. The cross design was brought back by the council of the Swiss Confederacy in the 1800s for the coat of arms and began showing up on flags again with the national flag being adopted in 1841. By the mid-1800s the flammé design from the past was replaced with the modern design for all Swiss symbols. The 7:6 ratio became official in 1889. The flag is interesting and recognizable for traditionally being a square shape rather than the more common rectangle, though rectangle versions of the flag do exist internationally.
Switzerland Flag Meaning and Symbolism
White Cross: Represents the Christian cross and the symbol of the Old Swiss Confederacy. The cross is also known as the Swiss cross and the federal cross.
Red: It’s debated what the red background of the Swiss flags represents. In line with the cross symbol, the red background is believed by some to represent the blood of Christ. It could have also been taken from old canton of Bern flag.
