Sports Team Banners Vinyl Options
Indoor
Choosing which vinyl material to use for your athletic banners depends on where you will place the banner and for how long. We have two options for setting the banner up indoors, such as in a gymnasium, a stadium, or a high school hallway. The Indoor Vinyl is a matte material that is weather-resistant and UV-protected so that the print will last a long time. The Indoor Opaque Vinyl is just as durable, except the material has a smoother satin finish. Your decision depends on how you want the banner to feel.
Outdoor
If the custom sports banners are going to be set up outdoors, such as on a field, scoreboard, or on bleachers, we have three outdoor-tested vinyl options. There is the Mesh Vinyl, which is ideal for windy weather and long-term display. The perforated material stands up against the weather so that the vinyl does not rip. There are also two Opaque Vinyl options. Both satin materials are weather-resistant and UV-protected, but they come in different weights. The 23oz version is for heavier duty compared to the 18oz vinyl. If the banners are going to be set up outdoors for a long time, pick the 23oz Opaque Vinyl.
Finishing Options
The finishing options allow you to easily set up your sports banners on different types of hardware and in a wide range of locations. Think about where your banner will be set up and with what hardware when choosing your finishing:
Grommets: You can get grommets in the four corners of the banner or, if the banner is long, every 1.5ft. Grommets are for displaying the banners with bungee cords to hang them from the ceiling, a scoreboard, the bleachers, or on outdoor posts.
Ultra-Strong Adhesive Tabs: Add adhesive tabs to the four corners of the banner or across the perimeter if it is long. Tabs are for connecting the banner to bungee cords to hang it from the ceiling or on a post.
Pole Pockets: Have a pole pocket sewn on the top or the top and bottom of the banners depending on how many poles will be used to install the banners. Having pockets on the top and the bottom makes the banners tauter.
Hemmed Sides: Get all the sides hemmed if the banners will be set up without hardware, such as with nails and tacks on a wall. The hemmed sides are resistant to the wear and tear of indoor and outdoor settings for long-term display.
Cut Sides: For a simple solution, have all the sides cut. The cut sides are perfect for placing custom sports banners on a bulletin board, on a canvas, or in a frame. The cut sides are also great for light use without hardware.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will I get my sports banners?
The turnaround time is 3 business days. We have rush production and shipping options available for those who need their banners faster than our standard time. See what rates are available for you when checking out or by using our “Delivery Estimator” tool.
Do you have double-sided printing?
Yes, double-sided banner printing is available on some of the material options. All our materials have single and double-sided layouts, except for the 13oz Indoor Vinyl and 12oz Mesh Vinyl options, which just have the single-sided format.
What’s the difference between the materials?
We have 5 vinyl options to choose from. Some are designed for indoor use while others are better for outdoor settings. The 13oz Indoor Vinyl and 13oz Indoor Opaque Vinyl are great for indoor display, but one option is opaque while the other is not. The opaque option also has double-sided printing while the standard version doesn’t. The other materials are great for outdoor use. The 18oz Opaque Vinyl is the more economical option while the 23oz Opaque Vinyl is more durable for extended and repeated use. The mesh option is perforated, which is great for use in the wind. This version is also only available in a single-sided layout.
What kind of printing do you use?
We print on our vinyl using a digital printing technique, which creates eye-popping colors that will not scratch or peel off the material. This functionality makes it perfect for withstanding all kinds of elements for long-term display. We also use full CMYK color printing, which allows you to incorporate as many colors and details as you would like into your design without costing more.
What’s the difference between the finishing?
All materials come with several finishing options to choose from. Adhesive tabs and grommet options are for hanging the banner or securing it to a stand. The pole pockets also connect the custom sports banners to hardware that uses pole sets. Having all the sides hemmed doesn’t add any finishing for displaying the banner, but keeps the sides protected against tearing or fraying. The all sides cut option doesn’t have anything finished on the banner so you can attach it to a frame or canvas. Think about how you will be setting up your banner when selecting your finishing.
