Ohio State Flag Details
Show how proud you are of your state with an Ohio flag for sale. The 3x5 size makes it easy to see by passersby. Designed for durability, these flags are made from long-lasting material. We use an outdoor flag polyester, which is a lightweight, knitted material with tear resistance so it withstands year-round weather conditions. We print the design on one side of the material and the mirror image bleeds through to the other side. A state-of-the-art dye sublimation printing technique is used for ingraining the ink into the fabric. This prevents the print from scratching or peeling off, even in outdoor elements. Secure your flag to a pole with the grommet finishing on the sides. If you need hardware for displaying your flag, add either a handheld or wall mounted kit to your order. A state of Ohio flag is a great addition to the front of your home or business.

Ohio Flag History
The Ohio state flag was first designed in 1901 for the Pan-American Exposition by John Eisenmann, an architect and designer for the exposition commission. It was officially adopted as the state flag in 1902. Previous proposals for a state flag were going to use the state seal, but the more uniquely shaped buckeye flag was created instead. Also known as the Ohio burgee, the flag is different from other state flags due to its triangular shape. All other US state flags are rectangular. It wasn’t used a lot during its first years, with the USA flag being the go-to instead. It gained popularity over the next century, with a salute for the OH flag created in 2002 to commemorate its 100th anniversary.

Large “O”: The big “O” in the blue chevron stands for the “O” in “Ohio”, as well as the state’s nickname: the buckeye state.
