Mississippi State Flag Details
Showcase your love for your home state by setting up a Mississippi flag for sale in front of your business or home. The 3x5 size of these flags makes them ideal for a variety of settings. The material and print are designed to handle both indoor and outdoor elements. That’s because the material is an outdoor-tested, tear-resistant polyester fabric that holds up in wind, rain, snow, heat, and other weather. We print the flag using a state-of-the-art dye sublimation technique, which ingrains the ink into the fabric to prevent the colors from scratching or peeling off. One side of the material is printed with the state flag of Mississippi design while the reverse image bleeds through to the other side, saving you printing costs. Easily setup the flag by adding a handheld or wall-mounted pole set to your order. The handheld option is for carrying the flag while the wall-mounted version secures the flag to a flat surface. These well-made MS state flags are great for any home, storefront, or event.

Mississippi Flag History
There have been several Mississippi state flags before the current design was adopted. The first MS flag was created in 1861 to represent the succession from the Union. This was the Magnolia Flag because it included a magnolia tree, a blue field with a star in the upper left corner, and a red border. The Magnolia Flag was not widely used as the Confederate flags were preferred. This first flag’s use as a state flag ended after the Civil War.
It wasn’t until 1894 when a second flag was created as a replacement. The new state flag incorporated the Confederate battle flag in the upper left corner of the design and red, white, and blue stripes. This flag went through several revisions with the colors in 1996 and 2001.
Because of its inclusion of the Confederate battle flag, there have been several attempts to redesign the flag, such as in 2001 and 2015. It wasn’t until 2020 when Mississippi finally created legislation to change the state flag. It was decided that the new design would remove the Confederate flag from the old flag and add the U.S motto “In God We Trust” to the artwork. The Commission to Redesign the Mississippi State Flag chose the new flag design after receiving thousands of entries. The new design was approved by voters and made official in 2021.
