Massachusetts State Flag Details
Grab everyone’s attention with your state pride by displaying a Massachusetts flag for sale. These state flags can be setup indoors and outdoors due to the durable print and material. We use a dye sublimation technique to ingrain the ink into the fabric. This prevents the print from peeling off the material and creates striking colors. The flag is made from outdoor-tested polyester that’s lightweight and tear-resistant to withstand wind, rain, and other elements. We print the design on one side of the fabric and the mirror image bleeds to the other side, allowing the artwork to be visible from both sides. Choose between a handheld pole kit or a wall-mounted flagpole as your optional hardware. The handheld option is for holding and walking with the state flag of Massachusetts while the wall-mounted set is for securing the flag to the wall of a building or home. The grommet finishing allows you to easily setup the flag on either pole set. Decorate the front of your home, office, or business with these well-made MA state flags.

Flag of Massachusetts History
A version of the Massachusetts state flag was carried during the Civil War. It includes the state’s coat of arms on a white background. The coat of arms was first created in 1629 and was used by Massachusetts troops before it was incorporated into the flag design. Legislature adopted the Massachusetts flag in 1908. Originally, the MA flag was two sides. The front had the coat of arms while the back had a green pine tree displayed on a blue shield like the one used in the coat of arms. The reverse design of the flag was omitted in 1971, which was when the current design was adopted. In 2021, a bill was signed to change the Mass state flag and seal, but no new design has been accepted yet.
Massachusetts Flag Meaning
Coat of Arms: The shield on the Massachusetts state flag includes an Algonquian Native American holding a bow and arrow. Because the arrow is pointed down, it represents peace. The white star in the top left of the shield refers to Massachusetts being part of the Union. The state motto is on the ribbon outside of the shield, which translates to “By the Sword We Seek Peace, But Peace Only Under Liberty.” Above the shield there is a hand holding a sword, which symbolizes the American Revolution where liberty was achieved. The sword is supposed to be identical to the one Myles Standish used. The right arm refers to the saying that one would rather lose their right arm than live with tyranny.
