One of the most popular attractions at any festival or event is the concessions and food service tents. We help you design food vendor tents that have people lining up to see what you have for sale. Features include:
When it comes to building a food booth for your next fair, convention or conference appearance, here are some tips to ensure that you bring something that will have people salivating.
Perhaps the biggest thing to keep in mind when it comes to food tents is that they have to meet food safety standards. For food prep. Usually this means sanitation, hair nets and other things. For food vendor tents, however, it’s a little different: all you really need to have is some kind of food service window that can be rolled up or down to serve your customers.
Most states, however, require that your windows be not larger than 216 inches (13.5 feet) and that they be mesh, as opposed to clear plastic.
One of the biggest requirements around food tents is that all of the cloth sections of the tent have to be made of flame-retardant material. There’s one big national standard that all food booths have to adhere to, developed by the National Fire Protection Association: NFPA regulation 701, which deals with how flames spread on textiles and films.
If a fabric meets the regulation with regard to the size of the flame, the char length and the amount of residue it leaves behind, then it’s considered flame-resistant.
If you want to have a food service tent running in the state of California, then the state fire marshal also requires there to be a seal on the product declaring that it’s flame retardant.
Not only is it something that tons of people on food vendor forums recommend, but having walls around the sides of your pop up food tent allows you to keep supplies and prep material out of sight of your customers. Having a back wall gives you a little privacy, especially if you have another vendor behind you or your tents butts up against a street or sidewalk.
There are several different side wall options available for our food vendor tents:
Using a tent wall with a door is a great idea -- not only can you print on and around the door, but it gives people a place to step out of the press of the crowd. Tent walls with windows -- especially mesh windows -- are a great idea for your side walls. Not only does the mesh allow smoke to escape, but smell, too, letting people up and down the block know just what you’re cooking.
All of our tent walls come with a custom printing option -- take advantage of it. Devise a graphic or series of graphics that encompass the whole of your pop up tent. This lets you give your customers a unified branding experience that fully incorporates the fact that your tent is designed to be a food tent.
Showcase your menu items across your front tent wall. Use your custom canopy for your company’s logo and other branding artwork. Repeat them across the side and back walls. Combine these strategic logo and artwork placements with a great branding package and you’re good to go.
