Denmark Flags Details
Showcase your country’s flag for all your friends and neighbors to see with these Danish flags for sale. Made from durable, outdoor-tested polyester, the knitted fabric prevents the material from tearing in the wind, rain, or other elements. This allows the flag to last for extended use. The flag design is printed on one side of the flag and the mirror image bleeds through to the other side, allowing the print to be visible from all directions. We use a high-quality dye sublimation technique, which infuses the ink into the material so that the colors look great, and the print won’t scratch or peel off the flag. Add on hardware to your order to setup the flag. Choose between a handheld flagpole or a mounted pole set to assemble Denmark’s flag. The grommet finishing on the side of the flag allows for easy assemble on flagpoles. Flag of Denmark History
The legend of the Danish flag comes from 1219. It is said that the Danish Army miraculously won a battle in Estonia when a red flag with a white cross fell from the sky, changing their luck. This legend has been referenced as early as the 1500s and remained popular in the country, as it is celebrated on Valdemar’s Day, named after the Danish king who led the army. The history of a white cross on a red banner traces back to the Middle Ages when a similar banner was used by the Holy Roman Empire. Similar designs began showing up in the Denmark military and the colors were in the king of Denmark’s coat of arms. The modern flag, also known as the Dannebrog, was first introduced as a maritime flag and became the flag of the army in 1842. By this time, the flag had also become popular among the citizens who viewed the flag as a symbol of the nation. It was officially allowed to be displayed privately on land in 1854. This flag is also considered the oldest national flag to be continuously used.
